Spain Earns Third Win in Euro 2024 Group Stage
DUESSELDORF, Germany (AP) - Albania's defensive woes continued as they conceded two goals for the third consecutive game, this time falling 1-0 to Spain in the UEFA EURO 2024 Group Stage.
After conceding twice in their 2-1 loss to Italy and again in a 2-2 draw with Croatia, Albania's defense was once more breached in their match against Spain.
Despite a promising start, Albania struggled to create chances and rarely threatened the Spanish goal. Spain, on the other hand, dominated possession and created several opportunities before Pablo Sarabia's 45th-minute goal proved to be the winner.
With this defeat, Albania's hopes of advancing to the knockout stage are virtually extinguished. Spain, meanwhile, remains undefeated in the group and secures a berth in the next round.
